The Co. Tyrone town of Dromore and the Lough Erne Hotel, Kesh Co. Fermanagh will play host to the world’s greatest dart players from around the globe when the 8th annual Ireland’s Open Darts Classic will take centre stage in the three day darts event with the annual International Sports Festival also taking place alongside this prestigious world event in other local venues close by……….

The Dromore town has hosed many a local tournament in pub venues throughout the town but will now be recognised for staging a World Official PDC Ranking Tournament which has seen some of the worlds greats add there name on the tournaments Roll of Honours list which includes 13 world professional darts champion Phil Taylor who has won the tournament on two occasions followed by Roland Scholten (Holland, 2001 champion), John Part (Canada, 2002 champion), Mark Dudbridge (England, 2003 champion), Phil Taylor (England, 2004 & 2005 champion), Mick McGowan (Ireland, 2006 champion) and the current 2007 champion Dennis Ovens (England)…..

The 8th annual Ireland’s Open Darts Classic and International Sports Festival which carries over £20,000 prize-money will be one of the biggest events ever to take place in this area when it comes to town over the weekend of Friday 5th ----7th September 2008.……

This will be an exciting sporting weekend in the close by towns of Dromore and Kesh for both spectators and competitors alike, and an opportunity for local players to take part in such a prestigious event……

Qualifying Tournament:
A open qualifying tournament will take place on Saturday 9th August 2008 (venue to be decided) for entry into the main PDC ranked Ireland’s Open Darts Classic…........The number of players that qualify will depend on the entries received………..Entry fee £25.….




A Breakdown Of The Weekend Is As Follows:

World Professional Darts Tournament:
The 8th Ireland’s Open Darts Classic will feature all of the top names in the world of professional darts from Sky-Sports Television as well as local Irish darts players from throughout the 32 counties ------players will be competing for £20,000 in prize-money in this event alone which is a World PDC Professional Ranked Tournament on Saturday 6th September 2008


Irish Open--------Irish players Only:
The annual Irish Open which is only open to Irish players will take place in the Dromore town on Friday evening starting at 7-pm…….All players are reminded that this event is only limited the first 64 paid players on a first come, first served basis……..for entries and information contact 07917887147...



Ireland’s Open Doubles Championship:
The 2008 Ireland’s Open Doubles Championship which sees players pick there own partner and open to all world professional darts players will take place at the Lough Erne Hotel, Kesh, Co. Ulster Open Darts Championship -----Limited Entry:
These 2008 Ulster Open Darts Championships which has a limited entry on a first come, first served basis will be played in the Lough Erne Hotel, Kesh, Co. Fermanagh in a round robin format in groups of four or five with all players guaranteed three matches in the group stages………Based on 64 entries the winner will receive £1500, runner-up £700, semi-finals £400 each and ¼-finals £50 each with tournament starting at 12-noon on the button on Sunday 7th September 2008.…….for entries and information contact 07917887147...


Ladies & Junior Tournament:

Open 8Ball Pool Championship:
Taking place alongside all the dart tournaments the Lough Erne Hotel, Kesh, Co. Fermanagh will also play host to two major pool tournaments promoted by Ireland’s Pub Players 8Ball Pool Tour taking place on the Saturday 6th & Sunday 7th September 2008.….

Saturday 6th September will see the 2008 Co. Fermanagh Open 8Ball Pool Championship cue-off with two time slots in operation 10am & 2pm played in a straight knockout best of 9 right through with the final best of 11 entry fee being £20.………………

Sunday 7th September also sees two time slots in operation 10am and 2pm when the 2008 Kesh Open 8Ball Pool Challenge takes centre stage at the Lough Erne Hotel, Kesh, Co. Poker Tournaments:
There will be two Texas Hold’em Poker Tournaments taking place at the Lough Erne Hotel, Kesh, Co. Fermanagh on Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th September 2008 starting at 9-pm sharp which is Open Celebrity Poker Challenge and Open Poker Tournament…………....NOTE: these two poker tournaments has a limited entry based on a first come, first served basis………..

Admission Tickets & Security:
The PDC has stated that there will be only 100 admission tickets sold to the public and players taking part in the main PDC Ranking Tournament (pro-tour only) can bring two guests with them……….
