Ireland’s Invitation 8-Ball Pro-am Pool Tournament (reds & yellows) -- £7,400 Prize-Money

Listed below is some details of the return of Ireland’s Invitation 8-Ball Pro-Am Pool Tournament (reds & yellows) which will be taking place on the weekend of Friday 29th February ------Sunday 2nd March 2008 in the Lough Erne Hotel, Kesh, Co. Fermanagh……


Hotel Venue:
Already the hotel venue is booked out for this prestigious pool weekend but we can provide a limited knockdown offer on a first come, first served basis for the remaining accommodation that we have left at the hotel…..…….which is as follows.

Three 2 Bedroom Cottage (each cottage sleeps 4 people) £30 pppn bed & breakfast.
Two 1 Bedroom Cottage (each cottage sleeps 2 people) £30 pppn bed & breakfast.
Four 2 Bedroom Apartments (each apartment sleeps 2 people) £30 pppn bed & breakfast.

Bookings for these cottages & apartments will be only be accepted on a two or three night stay…. Friday & Saturday, Saturday & Sunday or Friday, Saturday, Sunday nights at a rate of £30 per-person, per-night bed & breakfast……….

All cottages & apartments are fully equipped, traditional style with partially pined floors and open fire, they offer the visitors luxury surroundings in total tranquillity….. (this info is taken from the hotel leaflets) ……


Invited Professionals:
There will be eight well known world professionals invited, not including the other top professionals who will be entering which includes a good number of past World Champions with player details announced shortly……..


Junior Pro-Am:
We’re doing a special Junior Pro-Am tournament limited to the first 8 junior players who enters on a first come, first served basis when they will partner a world invited professional in a pro-am doubles tournament…….


Name of Tournament: Ireland’s Invitation 8-Ball Pro-Am Pool Tournament.

Date of Tournament: Friday 29th February to Sunday 2nd March 2008.

Closing Date: When 64 players are received…..

Name of Venue: Lough Erne Hotel, Kesh, Co. Fermanagh, N. Ireland

Entry Fee: £100 entry fee (limited to 64 players).

Dress Code: Full dress code (without bow tie or tie) black trousers, dress shirt, & shoes and waistcoat.

Prize-Money: £7,400 ----plus £1,000 added to the tournament ----

Number of Tables: There will be eight supreme pool tables used for the event……..


Pro-Am Prize-Money:
Winner: £2,500 + crystal trophy
Runner-Up: £1,400
Semi-Finals: £1,500 (2 x £750)
¼-Final: £1,000 (4 x £250)


Plate Tournament:
Winner: £500
Runner-Up: £250
Semi-Finals: £250 (2 x £125)


Entry-Fees:
Each player that enters the main event at £100 (limited to 64 players) will be guaranteed at leased 3 or 4 matches in the main tournament played in a round robin format, and if any player doesn’t qualify from the groups (top two players only) or doesn’t make it into the ¼-finals they will get free entry into the £1,000 plate competition (prize-money listed above)….


Open Qualifying Tournament:
If any player doesn’t want to pay the £100 entry fee and go into the tournament proper they can enter the Friday night open qualifier (starting at 6.30pm) which has a £25 entry fee played in a straight knockout with the two finalists going through to the main event……


Ladies Open Qualifying Tournament:
The ladies open individual pro-am qualifier will take place at 6-30pm on Friday 29th February 2008 when the outright winner (winner only) will receive entry into the main Pro-Am tournament getting the opportunity to compete for the £7,400 prize-money which is on offer… (players must pre-enter)…….The ladies winner will be guaranteed at lease three or four matches as the pro-am is played in a round robin format with groups of four the best of 9games and groups of five best of 7games…Entry fee is £20 for this ladies qualifier with Sponsorship cards available for all players.


Under-16 Open Pro-Am Qualifier:
All under-16 junior pool players are also given two opportunities to qualify for this 2008 prestigious 8ball Pro-Am tournament costing £30 for two events but all players must pr-enter…..

Poker Tournaments:
On Friday 29th February & Saturday 1st March 2008 there will be two Texas Hold’em Poker Tournaments starting at 9pm……..each tournament £20 entry + £5 registration -----(only one buy-in £20 + £5) ……all tournament entries will paid out in prize-money….

Past champions of Ireland's Invitation 8Ball Pro-am main event includes.......

Jason Twist (England, twice World 8ball champion) defeated Ross McInnes in the final.....

Darren Appelton (England, 4 times European champion) defeated twice World champion Chris Melling in the final)

Ross Mc Innes (Scotland, world champion on a number of occasions) defeated former world champion Mick Hill in the final.....

Just reminding all players regarding entries for the 2008 Ireland’s Invitation 8Ball Pro-Am which is limited to 64 players (open to anyone, first come, first served) plus 8 invited professionals…..


With details only released in the last number of days to players plus on this website the response already has been very good……..


If any player is thinking of entering this prestigious event they should do so a.s.a.p. as stated above the tournament is only limited to 64 players on a first come, first served basis with full payment of £100 or 150 euros paid……..


Payment:
Players are reminded to make payment a.s.a.p. to secure there place because the entries is based on the first 64 players who pays the full payment of £100 or 150 euros…….


Note:
If any player doesn’t get entered into the main event played in a round format they can still enter the Friday night open qualifier for £25 with two places up for grabs to get into the main event proper......

do the juniors just pay 30 quid then sll in if they qualify or do they have to pay 100 quid on top for an entry fee?

Juniors have the following options to enter which is also stated above.......

1. Any player Under-16 gets to enter two qualifiers for £30 entry fee which is the under-16 & under-19 events with 2 qualifiers from each tournament going through to main event.........(we will provide all players with sponsor forums).....



2. Any player under-19 gets to enter two qualifiers for £30 entry fee which is the under-19 & open events with 2 qualifiers from each tournament going through to main event.........(we will provide all players with sponsor forums).....



3. Any junior player can also pay £100 which takes them straight into groups of the main event played in a round robin format getting three or four matches and if they don't qualify from the groups or get into the 1/4-finals they get free entry into the £1,000 plate competition................(we will provide all players with sponsor forums).....

Put Marks name down for the main draw and put mine down for the Under 19 qualifiers. If I fail to qualify will I be able to put an extra £60 to the £30 needed to enter the qualifiers, to enter the main tournament, if there is space?

Dear Players,

Just letting you all know that the entries for 2007 Ireland's Invitation 8Ball Pro-Am Pool Classic is now closed.... The organisers has received the 64 entries they needed plus the 8 invited professionals with further entries placed on the stand-by list..........


Payment:
Some players still has to pay there entry fee of £100, these players will be notified and given a further two weeks up to Monday 3rd December 2007 to secure there place proper with full payment........any player that hasn't paid in full by this date (stated above) will be replaced by a player from the stand-by list..... "NO EXCEPTIONS given to any player"............


Open Qualifiers:
All other players men. ladies & juniors (under-16 & under-19) can still enter the open qualifiers for a smaller entry fee in the different categories listed below on Friday 29th February 2008 to get into the main event proper..........

Just posting that two more top players has confirmed there entry for Ireland's Invitation 8-Ball Pro-Am..........

Past pro-am champion Darren Appleton (England) has changed his own commitments to confirm his entry into the event along with Scotland's top 8 & 9 ball pool player Jason Shaw........

Breaking News

Just reminding all players who has entered Ireland’s Invitation 8-Ball Pro-Am Pool Tournament from Friday 29th February ------Sunday 2nd March 2008 that payment of £100 is now due………

At the minute we have 95 players entered for 64 places with already 30 players paid in full so its in every players own interest to get the £100 entry fee paid a.s.a.p. as we will only be accepting the first 64 players paid on a first come, first served basis…….. “NO EXCEPTIONS”……..


NOTE:

If any player missus out by not paying there entry fee in time they have know one to blame only themselves................ entry fees can be paid to either John Mc Mahon or Ronnie Boyle and they can be contacted from there contact details listed below……………..
