2008 Ulster Open 9Ball Championship:

Next Saturday 5th January 2008 sees the first 9-ball ranking tournament of the new season take place on Ireland’s American 8 & 9 Ball Pool Tour in Frames Snooker & Pool Club, Donegal Street, Belfast city centre………........


Name of Event: 2008 Ulster Open 9Ball Championship (premier event)

Date: Saturday 5th January 2008

Venue: Frames Snooker & Pool Club, Donegal Street, Belfast City Centre

Number of Tables: 10 tables

Format: straight knockout------race to 10

Time: 10-am

Dress Code: black trousers, polo or dress shirt (with collar), black dress shoes…

Entry Fee: £25 or 37euros plus 2008 membership must be paid (£20 or 30 euros per-year)

New Ranking Points System:
The 2008 season on Ireland’s American 8 & 9 Ball Pool Tour will see the official 9-ball pool rankings change once again to a new format………….

All 9-ball ranking events will have the same value of ranking points for the 2008 season except the All Ireland 9-Ball Championship and the winner & runner-up in the premier events……..(details stated below)……

(a): all ranking tournaments will have the same value of points

(b): premier event winners will receive 160 points & premier event runner-ups receive 120 points…

(c ): all Ireland 9-ball championship will have double ranking points…….


Ranking Tournaments:
Winner: = 100
Runner-up: = 80
Semi-Finals: = 60
¼-Finals: = 40
Last-16: = 30
Last-32: = 20

I have changed a mistake I’ve made in the tournament format for this Saturday 5th Jan in Belfast.........


This is a Premier Event which is a straight knockout race to 10 in the early rounds and not a round robin or double elimination which i had stated.......sorry about this.....
