Ireland's Team Selection & Ireland's Pro-Am:

The criteria used by Ireland’s American 8 & 9 Ball Pool Tour for selection onto Ireland’s men’s international pool team for the 2007 European Nations Cup and Ireland’s Invitation Pro-Am Event is as follows:-


2007 European Nations Cup:

The men’s 3-aside international men’s team to represent Ireland in the 2007 European Nations Cup in Castlebar Co. Mayo, Rep of Ireland in November will be selected from the following criteria.

(1). Top ranked 9ball player in the tours official 9ball rankings ( cut-off date 6th October 2007) leaving the following 9ball ranking tournaments to be played for ranking points…

All Ireland Open 9Ball Championship

Munster Open 9Ball Championship

West of Ireland Open 9Ball Championship

Leinster Open 9Ball Championship


(2).Top ranked American 8ball player in the tours official American 8ball rankings (cut-off date 13th October) leaving the following American 8ball ranking tournaments to be played for ranking points….

Co. Cork American 8Ball Invitational (open to all players)

Co. Fermanagh American open 8Ball Championship

All Ireland American 8Ball Championship ( this tournament will be brought forward and played on Saturday 13th October….venue to be decided).


(3). The third and final place will come from a open qualifier played on Saturday 20th October 2007 in TJ’s American Pool Club Newry the game being one of three categories American 8ball, 9ball or 14.1 and will replace the Newry 9Ball Open Championship on this date with entry fee being £25 or 37.50 euros……players must pre-enter !!!!!!


Note:

Only players who are official members (£20 per-year & paid up) on Ireland’s American 8 & 9 Ball Pool Tour can enter this open team qualifier for selection onto Ireland’s international pool team….

After the cut-off dates if it happens that the same player is ranked number one in both set of official rankings the following will take place..

(1). The 9ball rankings will be first preference.

(2). The player ranked number two in the American 8ball rankings will be selected..

(3). The official 9ball rankings has always been first preference for international team selection on Ireland’s American 8 & 9 Ball Pool Tour over the years since the tour started.





Ireland’s Invitation 9Ball Pro-Am Event:

Ireland’s Invitation 9Ball Pro-Am Tournament is a Irish invitation fundraising event to cover some of the costs towards this high profile event in Ireland where all players will get the same chance to enter on a first come, first served basis with the following details listed below:

(1). The pro-am will be a 3-aside team event limited to 16 teams (16 European players, 16 Irish men players and 16 Irish junior players, under-19) with the format being a Scotch Triples straight knockout the same format which was played in the Mosconi Cup.

(2). Each team will consist of one European top player, one Irish men’s player and one Irish Junior player….

(3). Each playing team will be asked to wear all the same polo shirts with the Irish players responsible for supplying there European team mate with a team shirt…..

(4). A Night at the Races (held at the European Nations Cup) will be one of many fundraising events taking place to help fund this high profile event in Ireland and that’s how a Irish player can enter this pro-am event by just selling one race card of ten horses at 10 euros each…………plus if any other tour member would like to sell a race card which will go towards the tournament costs would be very much appreciated by all involved….


Note:

This is a wonderful opportunity for all Irish players to get involved in, where they could have one of the top players in the World never mind Europe in there team and all publicity they will receive through the national press, websites etc leading up and after the event….
