2005 APN Invitational - Irish qualifier
Date: December 09, 2004 01:42PM
Over the past few months I have been working hard to make this event happen, just this week I have finalised the qualifers for this inaugral event.

The event carries sanctioning from both the BPPPA and EPBF. It has a £10,000 prize fund (breakdown below), and is sponsored by Iwan Simonis, Dynamic Billard (Germany) and run in association with Rileys and The Hilton Hotel, Bournemouth.

The event finals will take place over the weekend of 19th & 20th March 2005 at The Hilton Hotel in Bournemouth, Dorset.

Already confirmed are Nick Van Den Berg and Daryl Peach (more to be announced) who have been given an invitation. If you want to take part in this event then you can by going to a regional qualifier. Each qualifier is £25 and the winner receives entry, 1 nights accommodation at The Hilton and and at least £50 in prize money.

Breakdown
1. £3000
2. £1500
3-4. £750
5-8. £350
9-16. £175
17-24. £100
25-32. £50

There are only 32 spaces in this event. 23 Invitations, and 9 qualifiers.

The qualifier dates are below:

5/2/2005 Scotland – Styx American Pool, Kirkcaldy
12/2/2005 Northern Ireland – Frames Complex, Belfast
19/2/2005 East Anglia – Riley’s Ipswich
19/2/2005 Wales – Riley’s Newport
26/2/2005 North East – Riley’s Darlington
26/2/2005 South East – Riley’s Wealdstone
5/3/2005 Central – Riley’s Solihull
12/3/2005 North West – Riley’s Stretford
12/3/2005 South West – Riley’s Plymouth

Please come along and support this event.

If you want more info just ask.

Cheers

HI Spanjulika

Thakns for the info as I signed up to the BPPPA last year and I wish to play on that tour as much as possible.

I'll be at the event in belfast andi wated to know if any of the guys from the BPPPA will be there to organize it as I look forward to some serious competition.

I can also bring a camcorder to record the final of the qualifier.

I look forward to hearing more info and perhaps seeing you guys over here soon.

Hi Folks

Thanks for the input. The event is BPPPA sanctioned but is run by American Pool Network. The date of the qualifier has changed after a discussion with Ronnie Boyle. It is now the day after your ranking event at Frames Complex, Belfast. Your ranking event is saturday 29th Jan and the qualifier is sunday 30th jan in the same venue, so a fantastic weekend of pool for all!!! I will be playing on the saturday as well so look out!!!

In addition to the place, accomodation and guaranteed money for winning the qualifier we are also going to put up £50 towards travel expenses to get to the finals, this will only be for the Northern Ireland qualifier.

Entry is £25 and is pay on the day. Would anybody be interested if I brought some cues and accessories over with me?

Hope to see you guys on 30th Jan.

Hi

The tournament will be double elimination and depending on numbers will be straight through or until the last 16. From then on straight KO until the winner is crowned.

I am playing on the saturday in the Belfast Open, who should I look out for?

Cheers

There is a few players you should look out for like sam gibson, peter doherty, and many others but it all depends on what there playing like on the day and whoevers going to be the lucky one which excludes me cos im never lucky.

C u there anyway.

Thanks for inviting me to the tourney or well at least telling me about it.

HI EVERYONE

Good to see a 2x elim event over here, as everyone gets 2 chances for their cash instead of 1, but you still gotta play good to win.

Thanks for the reply and I look forward to seeing everyone next week.

Take care everyone.

HI Shrew

The problem about that is... You'll be flat broke after the 1st match that someone plats you, but at least when you're in a corner you can hide away from the embarrasment easily. HA HA HA!

I want to wish everyone good luck this weekend and I'm sure it will be a weekend to remeber. (hopefully for the right reasons which is winning the tourney)

SEE YA SOON.

Willie

P.s. Mouse When are you gonna practice gain because I hammered 'M oorsoe' and destroyed 'The Decon' anyone else who feels lucky then take your best shot cos it will be your last when you watch me run the table!

WHO'S THE DADDY, C'MON WHO'S THE DADDY!

Chris, I dare you to play in the US 8-ball leage in club 9 l8r.

I'm glad to see that you're starting to put a bit of effort into your game but it still needs a bit of work the same as my game does as well.

TXT me when you got the chance to play.

I hope everyone got home safe and sound and I'm glad to say that it was good to see Tony Gin make an apperance on the tour as he has got alot of potential in his game and I think it will be good to see him play on the tour more often, but saying that it was good to see all the players again.

CHEERS!

I agree with The Wizard on that one. Tony Gin played some unbelivable racks throughout the day and was very unlucky not to progress from the group.

Well done son...

Anyone know of any small tournament's coming up in Dublin soon. Could do with some tourni practice, and a bit of cash!!! (I Wish)

Have to say it's great to see folks recognising and go so far as to acknowledge
good performances from new talent in the forum.
That's bang on lads, nice one.

I'm heading down to the Palace in a few mins and I'll pass on yer kind words
to the man. Just so we know we're talking about the same lad I think his
name is Tommy Jin, black haired chinese guy?

Cheers lads,
Mark.
