2006 Scottish 9Ball Championships

I'm taking names for this years 2006 Scottish 9Ball Pool Championships once again from Friday 20th -----Sunday 22nd October 2006.

Not only can players enter the Scottish 9Ball Championships but there is also a 9ball tournament for all Irish players travelling as well as a poker event, and a international challenge match with Scotland.

I'l be putting up a full list of the schedule up shortly.

There is only 16 rooms booked and already 5rooms have been taken with some new players coming on board this year....NOTE: after these 16 rooms are taken no more will be booked.

All players are reminded to make sure and get there flights booked a.s.a.p. for the 2006 Scottish 9ball pool championships which is only two weeks away.

The Irish 9ball tournament (Irish players only) will be starting at 1pm sharp on the Friday 20th October played in a round robin format and make sure to be in Scotland well before the start time.

To date there will 38 people travelling over for this great weekend and i have sorted out some off the deposits which had not been paid from some players for the hotel.

Would all travelling players please get in contact with me a.s.a.p. on 07776365059 or from Rep of Ireland (0044) 7776365059 as i need the full payment right away to secure the hotel and only the players who contact me will be playing and going into the draw for the Irish individual (irish players only). . . . . . .. Joe Mathews is currently at the EPT working his magic, he is in very big demand from all player's at many events and if he could be at them all believe me he would, I will speak to Joe later and find out for you, Tournament director's realize the professionlism that Joe brings to events with his lathe and experience and now that the word is out he is being asked to attend many events but knowing Joe he will do his best to help the player's out.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the Irish players and non-players who travelled to the 2006 Scottish 9-Ball Pool Championships which turned out to be avery injoyable weekend. A big thank-you to all the Scottish lads, the host venue and there staff and last but no means lease to Ross Mc Innes and all the tournament officials for making everyone very welcome.

OPEN DOUBLES TOURNAMENT: --(blind draw)
This event was played in a Scotch Doubles and straight knockout format (blind draw) with two Irish players being crowned champions when Joe Driscoll (Dublin) partnered Paul Tierney (Meath) to victory. This was Joe's first tournament win which included agreat victory over Irelands ranked number 1 and 2 players Paddy Mc Laughlin and Paul Bonner in the 1/4-finals.

SEMI-FINALS:
Joe O' Driscoll / Paul Tierney beat Tam Talent / Phil Tierney
Raymond Field / Eddie Smith beat Mark Gargan / Frank Fay

FINAL:
Joe O' Driscoll / Paul Tierney beat Raymond Field / Eddie Smith



IRISH INDIVIDUAL 9-BALL TOURNAMENT: ---(Irish players only)
The Irish Individual 9-Ball Tournament cued off at 1-30pm on Friday afternoon which seen 20 players taking part played in four groups of 5 in a round robin format.

SEMI-FINALS
Paddy Mc Laughlin beat Mark Gargan
Ronnie Boyle beat Richard Berrie

FINAL:
Ronnie Boyle beat (w/0) Paddy Mc Laughlin



SCOTTISH 9BALL CHAMPIONSHIPS:
The 2006 Scottish 9Ball Championships seen a top class field of 96 players with all the Irish players giving a good account of themselves throughout but in the end it was Pat Holtz who was crowned 2006 champion defeating Scott Gillespie 10-9 in a trilling final potting the 9ball from the break sitting at 9each to claim victory.

SEMI-FINALS

Pat Holtz beat Jason Shaw

FINAL:
Pat Holtz beat Scott Gillespie



POKER TOURNAMENTS:
Saturday night seen over 20 players take part in the poker tournaments when two tables was played with pool players Andy Crosdale (England) winning table one and Colin Brown (Scotland) winning table two.
